59th Rimouski Book Fair: 14,000 visitors in 2024

Nearly 14,000 people passed through the ticket counters at 59e Rimouski Book Fair. The organizers add that more than 1,000 people attended the activities outside the program walls.

“This latest edition was one of the most exciting in our long history, a luxury edition according to some visitors. A welcome noted by the authors, the presenters, the exhibitors and a continuous entertainment program have, among other things, contributed to the satisfaction of the expectations and desires of the speakers,” indicates Mr. Doucet.

Stimulate interest in the book

According to him, the event fulfilled its objectives, namely to create an environment conducive to stimulating interest in , all genres combined, and promoting reading, an essential instrument of freedom.

“We are starting preparations for the 60th anniversary. A round number like that will attract authors and exhibitors. We hope for additional financial assistance in order to have surprises in store for Rimouski residents,” says Robin Doucet.

Around 250 authors participated in the 59th Rimouski Book Fair. The activity will return in 2025, from November 6 to 9, at the Hôtel Rimouski convention center.
