Phanee de Pool, his life, his work. Why wait until retirement to tell the story of how you became someone exceptional? Three snips of funny vocabulary, a burst of common sense, for 256 pages of herself as a funny but sensitive figure all the same. Fanny Diercksen, aka Phanee Thing. Where we will learn, among other anecdotes and biographical highlights, that the Swiss musician recycles the stuffing paper she receives in kibble boxes to his dog “Léone”who vomited on the carpet. We will also learn, more artistically, that the artist and his sound engineer do “paper, rock, scissors” before each concert. Basically, the book is like an intimate notebook, carefully crossed out, embellished with cute drawings and photos (Léone, but also some colleagues, among others). Plus the song lyrics, in typewriter font – while the rest is handwritten, it’s more tiring to read. But overall, it’s nice and not bad. So why not. FGO
