Full room, last Saturday, for the presentation, by the two authors themselves, of the book “From one village to another”. Dominique Delaite and Serge David had traveled to Haute Lande for the occasion: a total discovery for one, who lives on the banks of the large Serre-Ponçon reservoir, a return to the years of youth and a reunion with the friends from lower grades for each other.
An unprecedented encounter which allowed us to tie together in a fictionalized story very real characters from L'Embrunais (Hautes-Alpes) and familiar figures from the village of Luxey. With the common point being the prospect of decline or even engulfment, ultimately contradicted by an unexpected revival. This unexpected twist is based, in Savines-le Lac, on tourism linked to the body of water and the beauty of the mountainous setting, and on the desire to play a certain cultural card in the heart of the Landes forest. Some residents of Luxey will also go to the Écrins National Park on December 14 and discover Savines-le-Lac.
The vein exploited by the two authors is certainly not going to dry up, it was a question of writing a history of Luxey, nourished by references, unpublished documents and anecdotes. To be continued, therefore…
