We can read, of course, but much more than that. Creative workshops, shows, meetings with authors…: young and old will have something to enjoy at the Children's Book Fair, Saturday November 9, at the Agora de Vernouillet.
Children don't read enough, the most pessimistic people sometimes say. The cliché is a bit easy, but there is, undoubtedly, an element of truth. “This is why we decided, a few years ago, to create a Book Fair,” explains Sabrina Vigny, deputy mayor of Vernouillet, in charge of school affairs.
However, the elected official does not neglect the important work carried out in schools and the activities partly carried out “in collaboration with the library. Book loans are regular. From kindergarten to cycle 2, we read quite a bit… Children just need to have opportunities. »

“La Berouette de Paulette”…
Make reading a game, a desire to immerse yourself in a universe, learn, escape, dream too! This is the whole point of the new edition of the Children's Book Fair, on Saturday November 9, at the Agora.
This family gathering will be much more than a place to read or buy Books. We can delve into a collection, but the program includes other proposals: shows for children (La Berouette de Paulette, by Marlène Gillot, Julie Buono and In search of Fifi the snowflake by Laëtitia Via), workshops (ink-watercolor, caricatures, etc.), games (quizzes, board games, etc.), exhibition on the birth of a book (from the first writings to the making of the book), etc.
To Louis-Pergaud: “No to closures, yes to culture!”
Authors and illustrators offer animations
Four authors and illustrators will be signing and offering entertainment (Chadia Loueslati, Audrey van den Berg, Emmanuelle Halggand Philippe Govin and Laëtitia Via). Omer, the caricaturist, will draw live and involve the public. “We want to create cultural entertainment around books and participate in the development of young people's imagination,” continue Sabrina Vigny and Christian Coulot, events coordinator, culture and sport.
