Appearance, which was sometimes completely changed in the Netflix serial adaptation.

If Jonathan Bailey won the hearts of thousands of fans by taking on the role of Anthony Bridgerton with great intensity, it must be recognized that the actor also looks a lot like the character imagined by Julia Quinn. In the novels, the latter is described as a very attractive man, with beautiful brown hair and brown eyes. Physical characteristics that correspond in every way to the 36-year-old British actor.

Kate Sheffield

Shonda Rhimes having shaken up the codes of the British regency and invented a new Bridgerton universe in it bringing more diversity, some characters have changed a lot between the original work and the series, like Kate Sheffield. From now onIndian origin, the latter thus became Kate Sharma, but still kept many similarities with the heroine created by Julia Quinn. For good reason, the latter is described in the novels as a slender and tall young woman, who does not have her tongue in her pocket. Despite the fact that her pale skin and brown hair were abandoned along the way, it seems that the very essence of sassy Kate has been carefully preserved by Simone Ashley and her scathing interpretation of the character.

Benedict Bridgerton

With his sparkling blue eyes and his mischievous look, Luke Thompson had no trouble attracting the public’s sympathy by slipping into the skin of Benedict Bridgerton. However, the actor does not completely resemble his romantic alter-ego, who is renowned for his impressive build and brown eyes. Thus, in the literary saga, Benedict is the tallest and strongest member of the Bridgerton siblingswhile it is Colin (Luke Newton) in the Netflix series.

Colin Bridgerton

Star of season 3 of The Bridgerton Chronicles, Colin is quite different in the books from what the Netflix series would have us believe. An inveterate seducer, the latter plays his dreaded crooked smile throughout the pages, as well as its penetrating green gaze, which makes more than one person blush. With his joy of life, his lightness and his lively spirit, the third Bridgerton brother is known for his frivolity and his ease in society, which has allowed him to build a solid popularity. A very sunny personality, which can, however, hide an element of shadow and darkness…

Penelope Featherington

Introduced as the ugly duckling of the saga, Pénélope Featherington is indeed mocked for her unusual physique in the novels, as in the series. Being curvy, the young woman looks a lot like her interpreter Nicola Coughlan, with the exception of her brown eyes. On the other hand, whether it is her beautiful red hair, her abominable yellow and orange dresses or her fair and velvety skin, all her singularities have been maintained on screen.

Daphne Bridgerton

With her diaphanous skin and delicate features, Phoebe Dynevor had everything it took to embrace the character of Daphne with as much sincerity as possible. The only small stain on the board, her pretty blue eyes, which the eldest Bridgerton has always dreamed of… Indeed, in the novels, the young woman has brown eyes that match her hair and envies women with azure eyes, whom she finds it much more attractive.

Simon Bassett

As dark and dark as Regé-Jean Page in the series, the Simon Basset of the books is an extremely tormented man, who fights every day against the demons of his past. With his ebony hair and a confidence that has capsized many hearts, the latter is particularly striking for his incomparable steel blue eyes, that the author strives to describe throughout the first novel in the saga. A particular look that he does not share with his interpreter, who however knew how to stand out in another area: that of licking a teaspoon with a sensuality that would make a nun pale!

Eloise Bridgerton

She is loved for her cynicism and her piquant wit, and we almost forget that Eloise Bridgerton is as charming as her sisters. In the novels, the latter has a thick brown hairwhich contrasts with its big gray eyes. And if Claudia Jessie has blue eyes, we can still say that the actress is truly striking in this role, delivering a performance that is as touching as it is funny.

Francesca Bridgerton

As she enters the world at the start of season 3 of The Bridgerton Chronicles, Francesca dazzles everyone with her great beauty. An elegance and natural charm that the actress Hannah Dodd shares with her character, who is also described in the novels as the most beautiful girl Bridgerton. The only notable difference between the two is, again, eye color, as Julia Quinn praises the young woman’s incredible navy blue irises, while the actress has hazel eyes.

Violet Bridgerton

Sweet matriarch loved by all, Violet is a beautiful woman, who has retained all her presence over the years. And if, in the series, Ruth Gemmel bursts onto the screen with her sparkling little blue eyes and her smile full of kindness, the character is not quite the same in the novels. Violet notably has blond hair and is also noted for her small size, which contrasts with that of her sons, all tall and well built.

The first 4 episodes of season 3 of The Bridgerton Chronicles are available on Netflix.
