Carried by Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, this series brings the romantic comedy genre back to the forefront. A hit on the streaming platform since its release on September 26.

Barely a month after its release, Netflix announced that Nobody wants this is renewed for a second season. This romantic comedy follows the incongruous encounter between Noah (Adam Brody), a newly single rabbi, and Joanne (Kristen Bell), an agnostic podcaster. After several bad romantic experiences, her meeting with Noah represents the possibility of a serious relationship.

Or almost. She is not a believer, he cannot date or marry a woman who does not share her faith, and yet… The creator of the series, Erin Foster, confided in a press release from the platform that Nobody wants this East “the highlight” of his career. “The incredible cast and crew made this soap opera what it is today, and seeing viewers’ reaction to Nobody wants this is better than I could have imagined”, she delivered.

Netflix is therefore preparing a season 2 for fans of Nobody wants this, without giving more details on its release date. As usual, the American streaming giant is content to announce – with a video montage of highlights from the series this time – that the sequel will be available “Soon”.

Change of showrunners

If creator Erin Foster put her all into this series (which is inspired by her own conversion to Judaism after falling in love with a Jewish man), she will no longer be alone at the helm of Nobody wants this from season 2. Screenwriter Jenni Konner (Girls, Camping) as well as producer and screenwriter Bruce Eric Kaplan (Six feet under, Girls, Mr. Corman) will join her.

Konner and Kaplan previously worked together on the series Girls in the 2010s, a hit HBO Max series. Their future collaboration around Nobody wants this will be the first since Girls, something they describe as “a dream” in the Netflix press release. Erin Foster states in this same article that she considers herself “so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan.”
