The initiative of the association 9e island, from the Joseph-Rousse Plains media library, and a team of cultural mediation students from the University of , Esthua, brought together these two worlds of literature and comics in one abundant and original event, which will be held on Saturday October 19 and Sunday October 20, in La Plaine-sur-Mer.

Eleven booksellers, ten specializing in old books, from all over , and the modern bookstore L’Embellie in La Bernerie-en-Retz, a publisher from Dargaud and three comic book authors, Jean Harambat, Anne-Caroline Pandolfo and Terkel Risbjerg will be present for the occasion.

Advice, round tables, signings

For two days, you will be able to listen to the advice of specialized booksellers on how to acquire an old book, attend four round tables (one of which will question the notion of an old book: “What will be the old book of tomorrow?”), get autographs works, and discover two original exhibitions in preview: “Literature and comics” and “My women (and my men) of letters”, designed especially for the event, on the life and work of women writers and writers transposed into comics.

These two exhibitions will then be visible until the end of January 2025 at the Joseph-Rousse media library, in La Plaine-sur-Mer. We will also be able to preview the manga from the new Totei collection, which takes place, in part, in La Plaine-sur-Mer.
