The Vesoul Book Fair is now well anchored in the calendar of literary life in Haute-Saône. For the 3e consecutive year, it takes place over the entire weekend in the city hall lounges, compared to just one day previously. The public has until this Sunday, 6 p.m., to meet the 35 authors, publishers and illustrators who are presenting their works on the occasion of this 8e edition.

“It’s a salon that aims to be general. The objective is to always offer a range of books and authors that speak to the widest audience, from children to adults,” summarizes Sophie Bénier, former manager of the bookstore. The latter is responsible for organizing the event in partnership with the bookstore  At the heart of letters with the support of the City and the Agglomeration. From comics to poetry, including novels, literature, thrillers, historical stories, etc., every reader should find what they are looking for.

From kindergarten to high school

A beautiful page will be offered to young people. Already present twice, Sandrine Beau, from Nancray in , is back, this time as guest of honor. Installed at the entrance to the conference room, the author of children’s literature presents, among other things, her latest album, published in August, The wolf’s snack. “It’s a rewriting of the Little Red Riding Hood more smiling,” she explains. His audience? “From kindergarten to the start of high school, with a lot of different things for older children. I write thrillers because I know they are fond of that, especially those who have a little more difficulty with reading,” she describes: “I also talked a lot about sexual violence, it’s a very important subject. » She quotes The bathroom door published in 2015, which discusses incest.

Several times awarded

Sandrine Beau has published more than 110 works since the start of her career. A certain number of them have also been rewarded. To his credit: the Prix des Incorruptibles in 2021 and the Prix Chronos 2021 in Switzerland, for his thriller Fear in the snow (Mijade Éditions), or the Incorruptibles Prize in 2018 for his novel The boy who spoke with his hands (Alice Jeunesse).

The author is also present in the town hall reception hall through the interactive exhibition entitled A writer and an illustrator at work, or the birth of an illustrated book that she offers with Gwenaëlle Doumont around their shared passion. Because the show, “rich in meetings and signings”, is punctuated by several meetings. Drawing workshops, readings, dictation, will still be led by guests.
