« Let him be much less in front of the screen, and much more on a book. I’m not someone who reads a lot, even almost not on a daily basis. I wanted him to have this taste for reading. »

At the Indian Ocean Youth Book Fair, stories are told in all their forms, in large format, in audio or in the form of Creole tales for the little ones, or even in manga or comics for the older ones. big.

Professionals in the sector assure us that there is no age limit for a first contact with reading.

« We’re going to read the words, we’re going to start showing some images, there are picture books, alphabet books, there are indeed books adapted to younger ages, for under-3s, or at the media library, there are also baby readers, where we invite families to come with the youngest to discover books adapted to their age. »Indicates Simone Hillebrand, youth manager at the François Mitterrand media library.

Turning the pages from a young age, nearly 160 PIE authors are present until tomorrow at the Cité des arts in Saint-Denis.
