The Livres & Plus festival returns, from October 7 to 13, 2024for a third edition. At least under this name since the event, organized by the Alençon book association, is “more than 25 years old”.

“There will be a mix of genres with general literature, poetry and comics,” begins Nadine Pierre, the president of the association.

“Some artists present during the festival do not do literature but that is a desire on our part. We try to diversify our proposals, whether in form or in themes. »

Programme

A free opening evening is organized on Monday, October 7, at 6 p.m., at the Alençon theater with a music reading of the work Angry girl on a stone bench.

A music reading free of the novel Alexia Stresi is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, at 8:30 p.m., in the auditorium. Free entry.

A conference will be given on Wednesday October 9, at 8:30 p.m., at La Luciole by Christophe Brault on the Woodstock festival in 1969.

Planet’Ciné will then broadcast RegainThursday October 10, at 8:30 p.m. The prices will be usual for those offered all year round.

Moreover, 36 interventions are scheduled in school schools Thursday and Friday.

“The highlights are planned for the weekend of October 12 and 13 at the Halle aux Toiles,” says Nadine Pierre.

Seven meetings of one hour will follow on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Halle aux Toiles on different themes. Literature, sport, music, travel, the French Academy or even politics… the discussions, which can take the form of debates, will be diverse and varied.

Two shows for children will also be offered on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. A third will take place on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

The A-fictionados prize will also be awarded, Saturday October 12, at 10:15 a.m., to Taï-Marc Le Thanh, for his novel And the sky was veiled with fury.

4,500 people expected

During this weekend, around thirty authors will be available to sign their work. “We are expecting around 4,500 people this week,” the president hopes.

Various activities will also be offered at the Halle aux Toiles during the weekend.
