From Monday September 30 to Sunday October 6, 2024, reading will be in the spotlight at with more than 70 events. The highlight of the festivities: the traditional book fair organized during the weekend. We take stock of the highlights not to be missed during the week.

1 – Opening night

The opening evening takes place this Monday at the Paul-Scarron theater, Place des Jacobins, from 6:30 p.m.: readings and presentation of women scientists by Daniel Pennac, musical interventions by double bassist Patricia Lebeugle, presentation of the week by Fabienne Guyon. 2 – Great meeting with Yasmina Khadra

Mardi 1is October, Yasmina Khadra will present her latest novel “Heart of Almond. » A signing session will follow this meeting at the end of the evening at the Thuard bookstore. Reservations on 06 72 94 92 53.

3 – Green book price

Wednesday October 2, the green book of this 5e edition, “The voice of Melba”, written by Morgane de Cadier will be presented at 11 a.m. at the Louis-Aragon media library. Free.

4 – Stories and readings

Thursday and Friday (8 p.m.) and Saturday (6 p.m.) at the Théâtre des Quinconces, actor Jacques Gamblin will perform “Cher Cheval”, a tribute to the famous postman Cheval that he played at the cinema in 2018. Price: €24.

5 – The great dictation

This year again, Fait lire welcomes the Grande dictée, hosted by Julien Soulié, author of books on the French language, Thursday October 3 at 6:30 p.m., at the Concert Hall. Free.

6 – Book fair

The Faire lire festival will end with the book fair, Saturday and Sunday, Places des Jacobins and de la République, with many activities offered in the city center.
