The 6th edition of the Beauvais Book Fair “Ô Cœur du Livre”, organized by the Les Sources association, will take place on Saturday April 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Place Jeanne Hachette.
Many authors and editors will come together to exhibit their books and sign them during the Book Fair. This edition is placed under the theme of Power of the book. A power, which despite new technologies which transform uses, resists and affirms its value. An inexhaustible Source of knowledge, inspiration and entertainment, the book remains an open door to imaginary, educational, moving, inspiring worlds. With this 6th edition of the fair, Beauvais Ô coeur du livre has established itself as an unmissable event in Hauts-de-France and benefits from the support and mobilization of book stakeholders and partners as well as the public. Reading awareness workshops are also planned for children.
Les Sources, organizers of the Book Fair
The Les Sources association strives to promote culture through books. Created eight years ago, it is based on World Book and Copyright Day in order to bring the pleasure of reading to as many Beauvais residents as possible. Their objective is to promote social cohesion by fighting against inequality and allow access to culture for all to: promote solidarity, fight against inequalities, promote social cohesion, popularize and promote books and fight against illiteracy.
Since 2016, Les Sources has introduced:
- Cinemas/debates/friendship drinks at Cinespace.
- Beauvais Ô du livre: annual book fair which brings together authors from greater Beauvaisis and beyond.
- The annual celebration of National Abolition of Slavery Day.
At each of these highlights, social issues were addressed: drugs, the disability situation, “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity”, the power of books.
