Christine Leconte hammers it home: “Architectural quality must be guaranteed.“The president of the National Council of the Order of Architects (Cnoa) wants elected officials to be more supported in their projects. To better assist communities, the Cnoa announces that it is accelerating its policy in this area. After having drafted a plea in 2021, and having launched the following year the “1 mayor, 1 architect” system, the Cnoa is today publishing a set of illustrated solutions. The file brings together 16 examples of exemplary operations on French territory, dealing with various themes (rehabilitation,. shortage of land, production of housing, revitalization of town centers, etc.).
The idea is to stimulate new projects and support communities, while guaranteeing architectural quality, “often forgotten in laws“, declares Christine Leconte, during a press conference this Wednesday, April 24, 2024. “The ‘1 mayor, 1 architect’ system was very successful, but we felt the need to illustrate our advocacy [rassemblant 16 solutions pour répondre aux crises écologique et sociale et promouvoir la qualité du cadre de vie]“, explains the vice-president of the Cnoa, Marjan Hessamfar.
Towards other ways of doing things
In this file, several committed projects are recounted, such as that carried out by the interministerial body Puca (Plan urbanisme construction architecture) which produced an “atlas of invisible land” in Greater Poitiers. “Land is lacking, that’s a fact. This project made it possible to identify available land by promoting densification and avoiding urban sprawl.“, takes Marjan Hessamfar as an example.
