The firefighters were called at “6:39 am for a serious road traffic accident, a frontal shock between two light cars” on a national road at a roundabout, according to the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) in Guadeloupe.
According to firefighters, the victims deceased are a “20 -year -old woman” and “four men” aged about twenty years “, who were all in the same vehicle, while a man who was traveling on another car was” seriously injured “in the shock and transported to the hospital.
The five deceased young people “occupied a first vehicle” and the serious injuries is “the driver of the second vehicle,” said Captain Davy Mendès, assistant to the company commander of the Pointe-à-Pitre gendarmerie, present at the scene of the accident.
