In an interview with Geneva TribuneNicolas Walder, 59, announces to be a candidate to succeed Antonio Hodgers. The Green State Councilor, in place since 2013, announced his departure on Wednesday-in mid-term-opening additional elections which will be held at the end of September.
Next to International Geneva, Nicolas Walder was a member of the city council of the city of Carouge from 2007 to 2011, before becoming a magistrate until 2019, the date on which he was elected to the National Council.
Until June 23 to designate the candidates
“My candidacy is based on the conviction that my experience, my relationships at different levels and my determination will be able to advance important files for Geneva. At the heart of my fight will be the desire to reconcile the Geneva and Genevans with the development of our canton, “said Nicolas Walder on the Blue Lake Channel.
A general assembly will designate the person responsible for defending the siege of the ecological party in the Geneva government in the coming weeks. Political parties have until June 23 to apply to the voting and elections department.
On the side of the UDC, Lionel Dugerdil, president of the party has already announced that they are a candidate for the candidacy.
