The body of Agathe H., a 28-year-old woman who disappeared on April 10 around Vivonne (Vienne) where she left to run, was found on Sunday in an undergrowth, the Poitiers prosecutor’s office announced on Monday.
“The autopsy carried out today did not make it possible to determine, at this stage, the causes of the death. Several additional analyzes are underway to continue the investigations, “said prosecutor Cyril Lacombe in a press release.
The corpse “was in an undergrowth on the outskirts of research zones”, south of the town of Vivonne, said the magistrate, without other details. After a first phase of investigation for “disturbing disappearance”, he opened a judicial information on April 14 for “kidnapping and sequestration”.
The research system had been lifted on April 17, after a week of ratings within a large area of 100 km² where the deceased, frail corpulence (1.65 m, 35 kg), used to practice trail. On the morning of April 10, the young woman had left her parents’ home in Vivonne to run and had not given a sign of life since.
-On the Application of Sports Geolocation Strava, where she broadcast her racing statements, the young woman described herself as “adoring running”, practiced “since (her) 17 years”, launching distances of 15 to 20 km at each of her outings.
She had resumed in May 2024 after “several years of stopping”, according to a message posted then on her Facebook account. On April 10, her father had given the alert by not seeing her come back while her phone no longer replied.
A member of the deceased club, Vivonne Loisirs, had portrayed it, by participating in research, like a sportswoman “who aligns regularly on races”, “very motivated with big objectives”. “I did not have the feeling of seeing someone unhappy, we are all surprised by this disappearance, because she knew the course perfectly,” had completed another. According to a neighbor quoted in the press last month, the missing was “sick leave for two months”.
