Yesterday, Tuesday, May 6, took place the eleventh episode of season 27 of Koh-Lanta. Broadcast since February 25 on TF1, this season, entitled “La Revanche des 4 lands”, takes place in the paradise of the Philippines, more precisely in the Caramoan peninsula. As tradition wants since the beginnings of the adventure show, the winner will leave with a nice check for 100,000 euros. But by the way, how much do other participants earn?
It turns out that Alexia Laroche-Joubert, former president of Adventure Line Productions (the Koh-Lanta production company), had answered this question during an interview in 2022 on RMC Story: “The minimum remains the minimum wage”. Currently, the monthly SMIC net amounts precisely to 1426 euros.
In 2018, TV Magazine also made revelations about the remuneration of adventurers of the flagship program of TF1. The media had revealed that the candidates received 25 euros gross per day of filming as well as a confidentiality bonus of 700 euros. Admittedly, the final remuneration of candidates logically depends on the number of days they spend in the program. But on average, we are on sums fairly close to the minimum wage mentioned by the former producer of Koh-Lanta.
- These amounts, at first glance, do not seem so high. But beware, they must be considered with a certain decline because they represent only part of the total remuneration. In reality, candidates earn much more than these basic sums. In 2020, Society magazine had conducted its small investigation. If the media had also confirmed that the adventurers touched the equivalent of the minimum wage, he had added that they also received a significant sum of 4,000 euros in image rights.
Another important remark to take into account: all these figures concern only novice candidates, that is to say those who participate in the program for the first time. Indeed, it seems that stars candidates, those already known and appreciated by the public, can negotiate superior remuneration with production.
For example, in 2018 took place the special season “The fight of the heroes” which brought together stars who had already participated in the program. One of them, Dylan Thiry, had revealed on the set of Touche pas à mon poste that all had received a remuneration “between 7,000 and 10,000 euros”. Information which had also been confirmed by Clémence Castel, another emblematic candidate of Koh-Lanta.
Finally, for each season, the big winner leaves with a substantial check for 100,000 euros. Or rather a little less in fact, because this sum is taxable. Indeed, it is necessary to withdraw between 20,000 and 25,000 euros according to TV Magazine. Also note that since season 15 of Koh-Lanta, the candidate who arrives second has no longer won the bonus of 10,000 euros.
