The Goncourt Academy has proclaimed its spring track record, which crowns a first novel each year, a collection of short stories, a biography and, finally, a work of poetry. The Goncourt of the first novel 2025 was awarded to Photo on request From Simon Chevrier (Stock), the story of a student who sells his body on dating apps, a raw, transgressive book, on the dead ends of desire.
The Goncourt de la Nouvelle rewarded Gaël Octavia for his collection Mathilde T. (Gallimard-Continents Noir) which stages women of very temperament and madly energetic, in touch with moving and funny situations. Gaël Octavia, who was born and grew up in Martinique, before settling in Paris where she studied engineering, writes plays and novels. In 2017, she had received the special mention of the WEPLER Prize for The end of Mame Baby.
It is a biography of Cioran, nourished by unpublished testimonies and texts, Coran or the gay despair d’Anca Videi (the archipelago) which this year received the Goncourt of the Edmonde Charles-Roux biography. Anca Videi, born in Romania like Cioran, is playwright and director.
Finally, the goncourt of poetry crowned James Sacré for the whole of his work, long and rich. The poet born in Vendée in 1939 began to publish in 1966. The landscapes of his childhood, the farm of his parents, the garden, the village are at the heart of his inspiration.
