It is an event for the canton of Neuchâtel. After 20 years of absence, the orchestra of French -speaking Switzerland is back in the region. The Ensemble based in Geneva will perform on Wednesday at the Chaux-de-Fonds music hall and Thursday at the Bas Temple in Neuchâtel. After regularly walking the canton until the 90s, why did you wait two decades before returning? “These trips were expensive and it was ultimately the Geneva taxpayer who paid,” replies Steve Roger. “Today, we want to be more present again in French -speaking Switzerland, but we must find how to finance our arrival,” said the director of the orchestra of French -speaking Switzerland.
During these concerts in Neuchâtel land, the public will notably have the opportunity to discover two renowned soloists. The cellist Michiaki Ueno, winner of the Geneva International Competition in 2021, will perform on Wednesday in La Chaux-de-Fonds and the violinist Inmo Yang, winner of the Sibelius 2022 competition, will succeed him on Thursday in Neuchâtel. “These are big names, the stars of tomorrow,” says Steve Roger.
Classical music will start to resonate Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. in the Chaux-de-Fonds music hall with the Cello N ° 1 concerto from Chostakovitch. The visit of the orchestra of French -speaking Switzerland will end the next day after the interpretation of the famous Sibelius concerto. /Gjo
