Jean Dias, father of Barthélémy Dias, expressed his deep frustration after the dismissal of his son of his functions as deputy and mayor of Dakar. Asked on the sidelines of an interview, the former politician did not hide his anger.

“This affair is nothing other than an act of wickedness,” he said during an interview with without TV borders, implicitly accusing those who are at the origin of what he considers an unjustified political maneuver.

Although he claims to himself to the will of God, John Paul Dias is particularly skeptical about the outcome of a possible appeal. “I have no confidence in justice in this case,” he said, posting an assumed pessimism in the face of judicial institutions.

Jean Paul Dias also believes that his son remains, in fact, the mayor of Dakar, in the absence of any official installation of a successor and pending the outcome of the appeals introduced. He denounces what he describes as “political cabal skillfully orchestrated by the regime”, aiming to dismiss his son from the political scene.
