(Saint-Jean) A community of Newfoundland and Labrador declared the state of emergency and ordered the evacuation of certain residents due to a forest fire which has already destroyed some houses.

The city of Small Point, Broad Cove, Blackhead and Adam’s Cove declared the state of emergency for the Adam’s Cove region.
Municipal councilor Susan Rose indicated on Facebook that “a few houses have disappeared”, but that everyone is safe.
The inhabitants of Adam’s Cove, north of Cave Lane, were ordered to evacuate the premises, because, according to the municipal authorities, a forest fire burns inside and between Adam’s Cove and the neighboring community of Western Bay.
The main road between the two communities is closed and impracticable, and the population is invited to avoid the area.
This fire is one of the four that the provincial government says they are monitoring, most of them being in the Avalon peninsula.
The authorities indicate that a fire burns near the provincial butter pot park and that a team was sent to another fire near the closed community.
In the North Center in Newfoundland, the government indicates that a forest fire burns 10 kilometers west of the city of Badger, near the Transcanadian road.
