The project was born to a publishing house renowned for the high quality of its texts, carefully chosen and of a rare diversity: the forges of Vulcan. River Solomon’s science fiction is found there as much as the historical investigation of Soldier by Gilles Marchand. For the love of texts capable of shaking up our reality – political, sensitive, philosophical -, it is in this fabulous setting of the forges of Vulcan that the guard tower could be born.
The saga is made up of two interconnected trilogies: capital of the south, by Guillaume Chamanadjian, and capital of the North, by Claire Duvivier. This world, where fantasy comes as an enigma to be resolved more than a context, is above all anchored in two cities. These are inspired by the Dutch Golden Age and the Renaissance-yes, a very different atmosphere of medieval fantasy.
This saga thus reflects an urban, even geographic passion: cities are characters from this universe. Like travelers, readers discover customs, places, paths; as well as a plurality of social conditions.
