The inhabitants of the city of Marrakech woke up this Tuesday morning at the rate of a telluric shock of magnitude 4.6, recorded at a depth of 7 kilometers, according to the sites specialized in seismic surveillance.
The shock, although short -lived, caused a feeling of panic and prudence among the population, still marked by the painful memories of the earthquake of Al Haouz which occurred in September 2023.
According to the testimonies collected in several districts of the city, the vibrations were felt for a few seconds, without making victims or material damage, according to the first information available.
This new seismic episode revives the concerns of a population living for months in a latent fear of new tremors, and relaunches the calls to strengthen prevention and preparation measures in the face of natural disasters, especially in areas with high seismic activity.
The authorities follow the situation closely, pending an official press release specifying the exact nature of the shock and the possible measures to be taken.
