“I will assume the functions of parliamentary leader of the Caucus until Mr. Poilievre joins us in the House,” said Scheer at the end of the Caucus meeting on Tuesday, the first since the election.
Mr. Scheer, who has been acting as a parliamentary leader of the CCP for a few years, was chosen to direct parliamentary activities by his peers.
Pierre Poilievre was defeated by more than 4000 votes in the district of Carleton, in the region of Ottawa. He had been elected there for a little over 20 years.
Upon his arrival at the Caucus on Tuesday, Mr. Hairy admitted that his party should “expand” the team by “including” more people within it.
-However, he underlined the after all encouraging performances of the Conservative Party with the vote of young people, that of immigrants and workers.
Andrew Scheer was the first chief of the CCP to succeed former Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
He had lost the Liberals of Justin Trudeau in the 2019 elections, but still helped to prevent the Liberal Party from obtaining a majority mandate.
For his return to Parliament, Pierre Poilievre chose to stand for standing in Battle River – Crowfoot, a district where his victory will be final.
To do this, the freshly re -elected deputy Damien Kurek gave up his post and announced his resignation last week.
Mark Carney said he would not wait to trigger the by -election, paving the way to a rapid return from the conservative chief to parliament.
