The work paid: the Gaillacian majorettes came back from the “gymnasium of the twelve stars” of Saint-Affrique with the arms loaded with medals. In total, eleven distinctions that the girls (and the boy, Amory) brought back from this eleventh French AMF championship of the specialty. The group was finally able to touch gold, since two medals were made up of the most precious metal (alongside three “silver” and six “bronze”). Congratulations therefore to the whole group and to Savannah Rodrigues (Modern Cadet Bâton Solo) and Julie Redoules (Modern Senior Bâton Solo) who were able to withstand the pressure to touch the Grail of their respective categories. “Julie has always hoped for this great reward, it was one of her dreams that remained to realize. After many years of practice, the gold medal finally falls. She is deserved,” said Chantal, her mother. On the side of Betty, Savannah’s mother, it is pride that predominates: “As parents, we know that getting gold, it’s a lot of work and questioning”
The Saint-Affrican campaign of Gaillacian Majorettes therefore marks a clear progress result compared to the previous edition (organized in Albi), from where the group had gleaned seven medals (five bronze and two silver). More generally, it is the whole association that has progressed, on the number of licensees as in its structuring or level of practice. President Séverine Rigal sums up the state of mind that drives the management team: “Our only objective was to make our children proud of their progress. We return with awards that go beyond our hopes, work and team spirit are rewarded. The club evolves from year to year thanks to the tenacity of coaches, to the unwavering support of parents and the dedication of volunteers. After such results Gaillacoises allowed himself to dream again.
