Dr. Helmut Marko tempered the growing rumors that he could retire soon.
The influential and long -standing advisor to Red Bull recently declared that the quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel would be his ideal successor, the latter not excluding this scenario.
In addition, in parallel with his initial statements on Vettel, rumors were already circulating on a possible retreat from Marko, 82, who has just survived the turbulence of the management of Red Bull just a year ago.
However, asked about the state of discussions with Vettel, the Austrian declares: “It was just an idea on my part.”
“But the decision to go is not yet taken – we are still far away,” insists Marko.
“I don’t know who wants to retire at the end of the year, but I certainly don’t plan to do it for the moment.”

Regarding the pilots, his field of expertise, Marko already seems to look beyond 2025, the year when Liam Lawson has already been demoted and replaced by Yuki Tsunoda.
“Yuki improves more and more. He is Max Verstappen’s first teammate to be able to taste or even approach Max’s performance. Unfortunately, when the pressure rises, he still makes mistakes. But the data I could see is very encouraging.”
Rumors in Miami suggested that with Honda’s support and engine transfer to Aston Martin next year, Red Bull could consider another change of pilot for 2026.
Could Tsunoda stay in the Red Bull without Honda sector? Marko’s support for this idea seems shy when you read his answer: “Why not? But I would not underestimate our Isack Hadjar!”
