Oscar Piastri continues his impressive start to the season in Formula 1 by winning a fourth on the occasion of the Miami Grand Prix. The McLaren driver dominated the race and has of his teammate Lando Norris, relegating George Russell to be over 30 seconds and consolidating his position at the top of the .

While the rain threatened upstream of the start – even causing the cancellation of a support race -, the conditions remained during the Grand Prix. The minutes were lively. Max Verstappen, who left in pole, experienced two wheels blockages in the first turns, leading to contact with Norris, forced to get out of the track. Rejected in sixth place, the Briton went back to the peloton as soon as a neutralization caused by a puncture of Jack Doohan.

Meanwhile, Piastri took advantage of Kimi Antonelli to in second position before embarking on Verstappen. The Dutchman again made an error in the 14th round by blocking his wheels in a defense attempt, leaving the head of the race in Piastri. A little later, Norris also exceeded the Red Bull driver, after an intense struggle punctuated by an exit in the release area.

The race was interrupted by three virtual safety cars. The first, caused by the abandonment of Oliver Bearman, enabled several favorites, including Piastri, Norris and Russell, to make their stop at the stands in advantageous conditions. Russell, wearing a medium tires, won a position on Verstappen. A second neutralization after the Gabriel Bortoleto track stop, without major impact on leaders.

McLaren then checked the race to the checkered , the two cars digging a significant gap on the rest of the peloton. Piastri wins with authority, ahead of Norris and Russell. Verstappen fails at the foot of the podium, while Alex Albon offers Williams a superb place.

Antonelli finished sixth with the second Mercedes, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, authors of a disappointing performance for Ferrari. Carlos Sainz (Williams) and Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) complete the top 10, despite a penalty for Japanese.

Thanks to this victory, Oscar Piastri takes 16 points ahead of Norris in the classification.
