The British Andy Murray dominated French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in two rounds of 6-3 and 7-6 (8/6) to win the Vienna tournament.
This is the seventh title won this season by the Scottish, still second world player, but closer than ever to the throne on which is assigned Novak Djokovic.
Murray brought his series of victories to 14 after also removing the honors of the Beijing and Shanghai tournaments.
The Scottish could exceed Djokovic in the rankings next week if he wins the Masters of Paris-Bercy and the Serbian does not reach the final.
Murray, who also won the Vienna tournament in his only previous participation in 2014, converted his second match ball with his fourth ace of the game.
Tsonga, champion in 2011, participated in his first campaign final. The Frenchman has been slowed down this season by numerous injuries to the adductors and the left knee.
Cilic wins in Basel

-Earlier this year, the Croatian was crowned champion in the Masters category tournament for the first time in Cincinnati.

Before the start of the tournament, he camped in 11th position in the race for participation in the ATP finals in mid-November. Only the eight best players of the year are invited.
With its 500 points won at the same time as the Basel Trophy, Cilic is closer to the last available ticket. This will be awarded after the Paris-Bercy tournament which begins on Monday.
For its part, the Japanese already has its plane ticket in London in their pockets.
