Oscar Piastri continues his impressive start to the season in Formula 1 by winning a fourth victory on the occasion of the Miami Grand Prix. The McLaren driver dominated the race and has ahead of his teammate Lando Norris, relegating George Russell to be over 30 seconds and consolidating his position at the top of the championship.
While the rain threatened upstream of the start – even causing the cancellation of a support race -, the conditions remained dry during the Grand Prix. The first minutes were lively. Max Verstappen, who left in pole, experienced two wheels blockages in the first turns, leading to contact with Norris, forced to get out of the track. Rejected in sixth place, the Briton went back to the peloton as soon as a neutralization caused by a puncture of Jack Doohan.
Meanwhile, Piastri took advantage of Kimi Antonelli to settle in second position before embarking on Verstappen. The Dutchman again made an error in the 14th round by blocking his wheels in a defense attempt, leaving the head of the race in Piastri. A little later, Norris also exceeded the Red Bull driver, after an intense struggle punctuated by an exit in the release area.
