The Maple Leafs took control of their second round series against Florida’s panthers, winning 5-4 the first match on Monday evening in Toronto.
Deprived of their number one goalkeeper in the third period, the Maple Leafs saw the Champions of the Stanley Cup leaving their torpor and registering three goals, including that of Sam Bennett with 1:55 to play. But Toronto preserved his advance in the last seconds.
Anthony Stolarz began the series in front of the Maple Leafs net, but he left the meeting with just under 10 minutes to play in the second period after being vomited on his own. Previously during the engagement, Stolarz received an elbow in the head, gracked Sam Bennett, in addition to having been reached by a washer during the first third.
In succession, Joseph Woll has given up three times on 20 shots.

William Nylander had started the series in lion, thwarting Sergei Bobrovsky after only 33 seconds. The Leafs striker doubled the advance of his family in the middle of the period, in addition to raising aid on the goal of Morgan Rielly with less than 3 minutes to play in the first third.
Seth Jones ensured the reply of the Panthers in the first period. Eetu Luostarinen and Uvis Balinskis scored the other Floridian nets.
Chris Tanev and Matthew Knies, with the goal which proved to be a winner in the third period, completed the brand for the Maple Leafs.
The Panthers had defeated the Maple Leafs in five games in 2023, also in the association semi-finals, on the way to a presence in the Stanley Cup final.
