Suffering from cancer, Françoise Hardy died at the age of 80 on Tuesday June 11, 2024. Her funeral then took place at the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris on Thursday June 20, 2024. That day, many personalities gathered to pay tribute one last time to the memory of the musician. Obviously, Jacques and Thomas Dutronc were in the front row of the crematorium.

Other prestigious guests attended this ceremony during which the body of Françoise Hardy was cremated. Among the latter, we can notably cite: Calogero, Julien Clerc, but also Louis and Matthieu Chédid. Some political figures also made the trip to pay a final tribute to the singer. This was particularly the case of First Lady Brigitte Macron. However, a small incident took place when he arrived there.

Funeral of Françoise Hardy: Brigitte Macron whistled by the crowd

Present on site, an Internet user shot a video in which we can hear the First Lady being booed copiously by the crowd. Indeed, several admirers of Françoise Hardy did not seem delighted that Brigitte Macron was attending the singer’s funeral. They booed Emmanuel Macron’s wife when she appeared on site surrounded by several bodyguards.

A behavior that some Internet users have criticized on the social network X (formerly Twitter). “Not the slightest respect for the deceased”. “Do these people have to lack dignity to behave like this at a funeral?”, they wrote in particular. Despite this incident, the funeral of Françoise Hardy took place normally. The ceremony was also extremely rich in emotions.

The singer’s ashes will rest in Corsica as she wished

For memory, Paris Match had recently revealed that Françoise Hardy had expressed the wish to be “cremated in privacy and without religious ceremony” in Corsica. For its part, The Sunday Tribune had specified that the singer’s ashes would be scattered at Monticello. It is a small Corsican village where the musician had a house built in the 1960s.

Françoise Hardy had lived there for many years with her ex-husband Jacques Dutronc. The latter had also prepared for the imminent death of his ex-wife. Indeed, according to Paris Match, Thomas Dutronc’s father had purchased a concession within the Monticello cemetery. The ashes of Françoise Hardy will thus be able to rest on site.
