The 22nd season of Sweety salty is in full swing and nourishes our summer evenings with interviews, each more relevant than the last. Mélanie Maynard, who now fills the show with her sparkling mood, receives the personalities of the day there daily. This Friday, it was the turn of the much appreciated Benoit McGinnis to answer the many questions of the star-studded host.

At the start of the interview, the actor spoke about his ability to express his point of view and to intervene if a professional situation bothered him or prevented the team from reaching its full potential:

Sometimes I was stiff, though! I’m not Denise Filiatrault, we agree! Denise is Denise and she has her character. (…) Denise hired me for a musical theater called An Almost Normal Life. We rehearsed two weeks of music. Denise wasn’t there. And we present to her, to Denise and to the whole team, the music, the songs, the hearts that we have made. She talks all the way! We are there and we sing, the harmony, we have our lyrics and then I hear “Well, let’s see!” Then I go, “Excuse me, excuse me! Denise, is there something wrong?” There she looks at me “Well no, what’s wrong?” Well, it’s because you don’t stop talking and we sing, and we try to present our business to you! “Well that’s because it’s not tight, you’re not starting in the right place!” I say “Yes, but we just rehearsed! It’s the first time we’ve done it to you!” »

This muscular intervention with the great lady of the theater could have constituted the death sentence for Benoit’s young career. However, quite the opposite happened. He pursues :

After the sequence, she says “Come here, I want to talk to you for two minutes.” I was expecting to get picked up. She said to me, “What are you doing next year? I have a project for you. I’m doing Le repas des fauves and I would like you to play in it. I have a role for you .” I tell myself that when it bothers us, we have to say it! But it depends how! I didn’t yell at you! »

This is very inspiring and demonstrates how beneficial it can be to make our opinions heard, with respect.

Remember that this week, host Jean-Philippe Dion was part of the list of guests at Sweety salty. He also took the opportunity to put an end to a particularly stubborn rumor concerning one of the shows he produces. Details here.

The summer magazine Sucré Salé is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 6:30 p.m. on TVA.
