A few years ago, he explained what he hated most in the cinema industry. With his usual frankness, tinged with a certain weariness.
French cinema has been going through a difficult period for several years. Between questioning, identity crisis, lack of creativity and a taboo but oh-so-crucial subject of the condition of women in microcosm, there has been no shortage of controversies. Fortunately, a few actors and actresses allow France to continue to shine, and in this regard, it is impossible to forget Jean Dujardin.
After reaching the heights around ten years ago, he is now focused on perfecting his CV and investing in projects that are close to his heart. But despite fame and success, the person who shares Nathalie Péchalat’s life has not been caught up in the system, and even knows how to be critical of it.

Invited during the Rencontres du 7ème art in Lausanne, the eternal interpreter of Loulou in “A guy, a girl” revealed that he hated the environment in which he operates:
If there’s one thing I hate the most in this job, it’s the environment. There you go, it’s the snobs. Snobbery absolutely annoys me. I’m not in there, I’m not taking another one. I know where I came from and I know who I was. I know what I can still do and I know I’m going to screw up. I know I haven’t always been good. Well, that’s all that normally the whole team knows it.

According to Dujardin, gossip about an actor’s reputation often comes from disagreement and unfounded rumors. He thus concluded:
There has been bad information if someone sees you as someone else. That is to say that there was a stupidity from the production which said “Watch out it’s coming, watch out it’s something”.
Very clear is the fact that he loves “the job, less the environment”, the former husband of Alexandre Lamy also takes care not to tire the French. In 2023, moreover, he clearly explained that he would not rule out the idea of taking a break in order to take a step back. His words on the set of “CA Vous” were clear:
I think I need to step aside a little bit so I don’t get drunk and don’t piss people off either. But I like these moments of rest, it allows me to go back and see my contemporaries. To go and inspire myself elsewhere.
Not really the spokesperson for elitism and snobbery, Jean Dujardin remains above all a man of the people who became a star without necessarily expecting it. In fact, a whole section of the cinema world does not interest him, and even disgusts him. This is why he carefully selects the people he works with, and focuses on those with whom he is comfortable.
