Wednesday June 5, after a visit to Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire, Ingrandes-le-Fresne-sur-Loire, Vertou, Vallons-de-L’Erdre, Basse-Goulaine and Ligné, the flame will arrive in La Baule at the start evening.
She will begin her journey at 6:18 p.m. (that’s precise) from the Sporting tennis club, avenue de l’Étoile with a collective relay of 24 people chosen by the French Tennis Federation.
Bauloise Claudine Contoz, 81 years old, senior world team tennis champion, designated captain of this collective relay, will pass it on to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga which will go to Place des Palmiers.
He will pass the torch to another tennis player, the Baulois Édouard-Roger Vasselin, doubles champion, appointed by the City.
The four other athletes chosen by the municipality to carry the Flame are: Paralympic athlete Ceuzinha Gomes Sa, sailor Sébastien Rogues, ex-figure skater Sophie Moniotte and the rider Roger-Yves Bost who will have the privilege of lighting the cauldron, at the end of the route, Place des Salines, on the celebration site (between 7:20 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.). A sort of passing of the baton since the next day the La Baule International Jumping will begin, a major rehearsal before the Olympics event which will take place on the site of the Château de Versailles.
In the meantime, other torchbearers have followed one another: unknown or known to the general public such as the actress Virginie Ledoyen, the ex-footballer, 98 world champion, Christian Karembeu who will receive the flame from the hands of his daughter Inès, born when he was a player for FC Nantes.

Two members of the government will not carry the flame but will be present in La Baule this Wednesday, June 5: La Nantaise Sarah El HairyMinister Delegate for Children, Youth and Families and Amélie Oudéa-Castérathe Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games of France who will not be in unfamiliar territory since she is used to spending her vacations in the resort.
