He is perhaps one of the greatest hopes of French cinema and with a name like that, we can understand it. At 30 years old, Victor Belmondo already has a great career behind him and the best seems to be yet to come for the man whose features are very reminiscent of his grandfather, Jean-Paul Belmondo. This year, he came to the Cannes Film Festival to defend Gaël Morel’s film, Live, die, be reborn, broadcast as part of Cannes Première this Thursday, May 23. The young actor plays Cyril, a homosexual whose life will be disrupted by the arrival of AIDS. At his side, we also find Lou Lampros and Théo Christine.

For the photo session of the film, Victor Belmondo decided to play it as a family since his little brother Giacomo joined in with the photographers alongside him and we were able to see all the complicity between the two brothers (all the photos can be found in the slideshow). The two boys of Paul Belmondo and his wife Luana obviously get along wonderfully, but unfortunately, their third brother Alessandro was not present for this beautiful family moment. In the evening, Victor went with the entire team of Vivre, Die, Renaissance to the red carpet of the Palais des Festivals to climb the steps for the screening of Gilles Lellouche’s film, Love phewbut this time he went there without Giacomo.

Victor Belmondo, a rebellious child

A beautiful family moment for Victor Belmondo, who is starting to become an important name in French cinema. However, everything has not been easy in his life and this rebellious child has notably been in police custody in the past. “I was in my world. I had boundless energy that was complicated to channel. I did a lot of sport, mountain biking in the woods with friends, but the outings often went wrong, we threw stones, we broke cars …”he told She last year, before adding: “It grew bigger. I was doing stupid things, I was skipping classes, I got kicked out of two colleges, I was in police custody for a fight… I was inhabited by this energy overflowing and a form of anger that I cannot quite identify. A total rebellion against whom, against what? My environment, my family?

Fortunately, Victor Belmondo has returned to the right path by becoming a popular actor and very happy to be at Cannes this year.
