Offering a new art school in Chinon since 2023, first in an associative form then now on a private basis, Jean-Pierre Blanchard is reopening the doors of his workshop-gallery, Place Mirabeau, for new courses.

It was the friendliness of the small Rabelaisian town that made him want to settle down a few years ago. “I was seduced by the thoughtfulness of the people of Chinon. »

“Find out each person’s personality”

Attached to the medieval city, it is to offer an offer focused on creativity and the exploitation of the potential of each Chinonese student that Jean-Pierre Blanchard seeks to develop today. “I want to know and bring to light what we cannot see, to seek out each person’s personality, to seek out the invisible, beyond appearances”he expresses.

Because he designed his workshop-gallery to be a place for contacts and meetings, Jean-Pierre Blanchard offers courses and workshops for adults and children. “For me, the important thing is to keep your childish outlook, at any age”he confides.

Learn by example

Blanch’Art Atelier now has fifteen to twenty students. The groups have a size of around six to seven people so that the artist can be as available as possible for his students. “It helps a lot to demystify art and its techniques; we learn a lot by example”slips Jean-Pierre Blanchard.

The artist has a look full of magic and humor, like the Largest Cabaret in the World who was his host for many years for his speed-painting performances. “Our mission, as an artist, is to breathe beauty into people’s lives. I like to laugh, even with paintbrushes. »

Jean-Pierre Blanchard will participate in the inauguration of the next Fondettes Art and Youth Center, in spring 2025, with creations specially made for the occasion.

Next dates of courses and internships available this fall, available via the Facebook page or by e-mail at: [email protected], by telephone at 06.10.02.46.75 or simply going to meet Jean-Pierre Blanchard in his workshop-gallery, place Mirabeau.
