Art Basel takes over all of

By bringing together 195 art galleries in the heart of the Grand Palais, the Art Basel Paris fair, which replaced the FIAC, is the artistic event not to be missed this fall. If it is preparing to return to its quarters in the monument which hosted the fencing events of the 2024 Olympic Games under its glass roof, it also extends beyond the walls. A true museifaction of emblematic places in Paris, this new edition will take up residence at the Petit Palais, but also on the square in front of the Institut de where a large tree by Niki de Saint Phalle, whose biopic played by Charlotte Le Bon, will be released this week in theaters. Place Vendôme will soon be invaded by giant hallucinogenic mushrooms, 3 meters high and created by the artist Carsten Höller. Artists who have thought big this year, since the imperial thumb of the sculptor César will be placed in the gardens of the Palais-Royal. A unique opportunity to stroll through key works of French and international artistic heritage.

Art Basel Paris, Grand Palais, 3 avenue du Général Eisenhower, Paris (8th), from October 18 to 20, 2024.

Photo Days sees bigger

Notice to those who can’t help but immortalize all their moments of life on film, Photo Days returns to the capital for its 5th edition. The photography festival is being renewed by investing in new places well known to Parisians. The Carrousel du Louvre will present a new series tailor-made by Juliette Agnel, the Cinéma L’Arlequin will welcome the video artist Ariane Michel, and SPOT24 will exhibit the winner of the Grand Prix, Letizia Le Fur, who chose to explore the “small games”, echoing the Paris Olympic Games. And as always, a Photography Grand Prize will be awarded to the artists who have submitted their candidacy for this edition with 15,000 euros and an exhibition in Paris in 2025. Between historical photography, feminist commitment, fashion and travel, Photo Days explores all the facets of this visual art.

Modern Art Fair rejuvenates the capital

It is the cult meeting place for the artistic scene in France. The Moderne Art Fair is taking place on the Champs-Elysées. Around sixty ephemeral galleries are preparing to deploy from Place Clémenceau to Place de la Concorde, for a stroll to the rhythm of modern and contemporary art. And many will be present, including artists, collectors, decorators and curious minds. The first exhibition will highlight the Bonisson Art Center in Rognes, in Aix-en-Provence. The opportunity to introduce the public to a wide range of artistic expressions, including innovative sculptures and vibrant paintings, a true exploration of our era focused on modernity. Modern Art Fair also offers a little magic to visitors, with the ephemeral installation “Inverted Work”, created by two magicians and using neuroaesthetics, study of the brain’s response to the experience of beauty or art. A true dive into modern art for lovers eager for discovery.
