Bernard Hill died this Sunday, May 5, in the morning. The sad news has just been announced by the BBC, which was able to confirm it with its agent, Lou Coulson. The British media also announces that the actor’s family is preparing to issue a press release.

Born in 1944, he began his career in the 1970s, combining television, cinema and theater. In 1997, he delivered a remarkable performance in the role of the captain of the Titanic, in James Cameron’s film. His performance earned him a nomination at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

A few years later, he enjoyed another huge success by joining the “Lord of the Rings” saga, led by Peter Jackson. He plays the character of Théoden, the cursed king of Rohan, and receives a new nomination at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. There appeared two parts of the trilogy, “The Two Towers” and “The Return of the King”. Not a fan of the prequel series to the franchise, “The Rings of Power”, he violently criticized it upon its release, calling it a “money-making machine”.
