In an interview for “Gala”, Sandrine Bonnaire spoke very naturally about aging. The 56-year-old actress, who has been starring in the thriller “The Soul Eater” since April 24, was asked about the influence of age on her career.

“I play women my age, which is natural. “It obviously doesn’t bother me because I’ve never based my image on sexiness or glamour,” she explains.

The one who played for André Téchiné, Agnès Varda and Maurice Pialat “remains very comfortable with (her) body”. “I danced a lot and my body is there, still supple and for the moment, it is not tired. I can count on him. Besides, the idea of a musical would amuse me a lot,” says the companion of trumpeter Erik Truffaz.

Plastic surgery? Very little for her. The most she admits is: “I try to look good. I do a little laser or mesotherapy.” But Botox is no. “I make no judgment on those who do Botox. On the other hand, it’s something that I see right away. Botox is a product that puts muscles to rest, it paralyzes them. It doesn’t allow you to look younger,” adds Sandrine Bonnaire.

For the actress, “facial expressiveness is my job, my subject, I don’t want to lose it. I’m not a model.” And to conclude with great wisdom: “We are his age whatever we do.”

A philosophy that she will not fail to pass on to her eldest daughter “who attended an art school and wants to be an actress”. “Together, we have the project of making a documentary about his father,” the American actor William Hurt, who died in 2022, confides Sandrine Bonnaire.
