FASHION – It’s called having some spice. Anya Taylor-Joy caused a sensation on the red carpet of Furiosa during the preview in Sydney, this Thursday, May 2. The actress, who plays the main role in the new film in the saga Mad Maxwore a golden dress made of metal mesh surrounded by long spikes, as you can see in our video at the top of the article.
Anya Taylor-Joy posed alongside director George Miller and Chris Hemsworth, who couldn’t get too close or risk getting pricked. This outfit, inspired by knights’ chain mail, comes from the archives of Paco Rabanne’s spring-summer 1996 Haute Couture collection.
For the occasion, Anya Taylor-Joy even wore the matching headdress. Similar to a helmet, it is also covered in spikes. A sophisticated armor-style total look, handcrafted, and which is part of the collection “Unwearable Dresses” of the couturier (literally, “impossible to wear dresses”).
The actress probably had to spend the evening standing, as this dress did not allow her to sit down. Her outfit deserved a standing ovation.
