Tuesday April 30, 2024, two new adventurers were eliminated from Koh-Lanta, The Immunity Hunters after settling accounts with the council. These are Sébastien and Aurélien, who then formed a pair as part of the episode of linked destinies. The 37-year-old father talks about his elimination to Purepeople.com. The opportunity for him to return to Meïssa’s reaction when revealing her strategy to the council, her management of the distance from her family but also her celebrated marriage with her partner Charlotte after filming.
How did you experience this elimination without any vote against you?
I didn’t see it like that. I think it was the pair who was targeted and that they agreed to just put Sébastien’s name. Afterwards, in fact, there was no vote against me on the whole adventure. But I was still targeted there.
How did you feel when you realized you were eliminated?
I was super disappointed. Because I was pretty confident about what had happened the previous days, even though I knew we were in great danger. That’s why I’m moved at the end. I believed in it, I had energy to spare, I had it in my guts, I saw myself going further…
In your opinion, why did your comrades vote against Sébastien?
It was quite easy. From the moment we didn’t win the events, for everyone it was us who went out. If we hadn’t released the information about Meïssa who was the mole of the ex-reds, we might even have been able to have all the votes against us (laughs). I think it was quite logical. It was a blessing for everyone: two ex-yellows who were good in the tests.
Amri explains that he voted against you because by denouncing Meïssa you, in turn, jeopardized his strategy. What do you think ?
He is wrong. It was quite the opposite. We mainly pointed the finger at Meïssa, not Amri even if he felt a little targeted. And I think that this clears him of what had happened before. It was normal that he took advantage of this situation with Meïssa and fought for the ex-yellows. I think that takes him a little away from this image of a strategist, a thinking head. I didn’t understand his thinking at all. I was also disappointed with his vote. But he was bothered, you could tell. It was either Sébastien and me, or Meïssa and Pauline. He made his choice, but he could still have remained neutral by voting against David and Léa, knowing that David would not have held it against him since he was not in danger and he knew that he had ties with the other pairs. Amri had other options and he made that choice anyway.
Despite the fact that you revealed everything to the ex-reds, you are still eliminated. How do you explain it?
We were pretty confident. It made sense to us: there was a traitor, they were going to get him out. But I think we were too confident, not insistent enough, on this strategy. We could have locked each vote of the former reds, perhaps checking with Jean if he had found his necklace, what he could do with it… We also lost Julie’s voice because of the little confusion that she had with Sébastien. I thought the traitor story would be stronger than that, but to each their own logic. Even so, we half-convinced them.
At the council, Meïssa does not take responsibility, you say you find it “ridiculous“. Why do you think he reacts like this?
I do not know. Maybe he wanted to clear himself because he realized that he had everyone against him. Besides, I didn’t understand. If we alienate everyone in an adventure like this, which member of the final jury will vote for us at the end? I didn’t like the way Meïssa reacted, I think he spoke to us badly. That’s what I found ridiculous. He was aggressive, it wasn’t very respectful. I kept my self-control, even though I felt like exploding. I told myself that this was mainly to his disadvantage.
Two weeks ago, when Amri protected Océane with her necklace, Internet users saw it as cheating. What do you think ?
Only Amri has the truth. I don’t know if he was already in cahoots with Meïssa, but they got along well since the reunification. I don’t have the nature of all the comments they exchanged. They are the ones who have the truth on this subject. On the other hand, I don’t understand why talking about cheating. There is no cheating if it was Meïssa who shared the votes. To date, we do not have the information. Amri speaks from an intuition, we will believe him. But actually this intuition leaves some doubt, especially when we see what happens next.
How did you experience the distance with your children, your partner?
It was hard. What I did was that every day I knew what my little family’s schedule was. So I woke up in the morning thinking about what they had planned. For example, today I know it’s grandpa and grandma who are coming. It’s show day. I clung to that, their daily life, telling myself that everything was fine.
You revealed that you got married since the game! How did this desire come to you?
When I came home, my wife had a surprise for me with a romantic room with petals, sparkling drinks… And she proposed to me. I had this little moment of hesitation. I thought : “But it’s my turn to ask!“Because I was already thinking about it. So I said to myself: “Damn, she beat me to it.“It was mainly for that, not at all out of machismo. I said yes naturally and then it was I who took the steps to get married and the wedding took place in September. It was a question of time but inevitably with the lack we started to think about life and what we want. The adventure accelerated things.
What are your projects ?
After the adventure, I began my retraining in real estate consulting. I was in the bank just before leaving. When I returned, I launched my independent business. For the rest, I don’t have any particular plans. One thing is certain, if I am offered things, there must be a challenge. I won’t do TV just for the sake of doing TV, I need a challenge.
