The horror in France: two young women filmed by a hidden camera in the shower of an Airbnb

What if you had already been filmed without your knowledge in an Airbnb? This traumatic experience, two young women experienced it while they were on vacation in Dingy-Saint-Clair (Haute-Savoie) for the Ascension weekend. Directed towards their shower, an alarm clock appeared suspicious to them. They were right: a hidden camera was integrated into it.

Quickly, Madison and her friend have the good reflex by going directly to the police, reports Bleu. On the spot, the case is taken very seriously. The gendarmerie discovers a terrible SD card with other videos. In all, there are 14 other victims of the individual. “The public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for capturing images and invasion of privacy which has been entrusted to the Thônes gendarmerie., explain our colleagues. Currently, the investigation is progressing but the military is waiting. They sent a requisition to Airbnb to have the names of all the people who stayed in this macabre accommodation.

“My privacy has been violated”

Shocked and traumatized, Madison experiences this as rape. “I live very badly what happened”, she confided for France Bleu. I feel that my privacy has been violated because I don’t wash myself in front of the whole Earth, for me it’s still sexual violence. I don’t know what the guy did behind his phone, because this camera was connected to the internet, and with an application it is possible to watch everything live.

For the two young women, it was impossible to guess the true nature of the owner. “This guy had hundreds of positive reviews, apparently he was the right family man in every way.” Today Madison needs to be followed. “I don’t trust anything anymore, everywhere I go I check in all sides. I look at all the objects that seem strange to me, if it has nothing to do with where it is, I find it suspicious. I went into a phase of paranoia but I’m working on it.

And Airbnb in there? Contacted by France Bleu, the American rental platform between individuals claims to have withdrawn the advertisement for this house. For the two victims, this seems very little. “We have never been compensated apart from the reimbursement of the rental by Airbnb, I find it disrespectful after what happened.”

Worse, the two women have already seen the accommodation… on other platforms! “We contacted these sites, but their response was to say that it was not on their platform, so there is no problem”, explains Madison.

On social media, Madison shared her story on TikTok. Since then, she has made an incredible viral buzz: 1.8 million views and more than 100,000 likes.
