This year marks 80 years since the Russian army liberated the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. For the occasion, Charles III will make the trip.
King Charles III will attend the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi camp Auschwitz-Birkenau on January 27, Buckingham Palace announced on Monday.
“The King will attend commemorations at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial, marking 80 years since the liberation of the former German Nazi concentration camp on January 27, 1945“, according to a palace press release. This is Charles III’s first visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau. During this stay in Pologue, the king will also meet Polish President Andrzej Duda.
