It became what Israeli soldiers call “the line of corpses.” Cutting the Gaza Strip in two, from east to west, a large strip of land has been transformed into desert. Or die: when we see a concentration of stray dogs, it is undoubtedly because they are devouring the remains of Palestinians, whose mortal remains have not been collected.
In a series of careful investigations, the left-wing Israeli newspaper Haaretz explored the responsibility of a man partly at the origin of this apocalypse landscape. Brigadier General Yehuda Vach was appointed head of the Israeli army’s 252nd Division last August. It is on its division that this vast corridor which cuts Gaza in two depends, whose official name for Israelis is the Netzarim corridor, named after a former Israeli colony illegally established here.
