She was found “almost unconscious, staring into space and no longer able to stand.”
A new episode of violence against women shakes Spain. This Tuesday, the Diario SUR of Malaga publishes a case which has a national impact. And for good reason.
Last December 19 at 5 a.m., a woman already under surveillance by the Marbella police for having been a victim of gender-based violence, sent a message to the police: “I need help”. All followed by a video in the dark, in which she makes inaudible comments.
The police officer in charge of maintaining contact with her sends a patrol to the home of her attacker, a 53-year-old man, already arrested for the violence against his partner.
His mother in shock
On site, the police found the door closed. After opting for the gentle way with the support of the firefighters, they then try everything and break down the door. It is then that man finally responds from within.
Once in the apartment, the police only found his 93-year-old mother in a state of shock. No trace of the victim after a first search and her attacker who continues to claim that she is not there.
The second search was finally the right one: the police found the victim trapped under the sofa mattress, “almost unconscious, staring into space and not even able to stand”. Several police officers had to work together to extract him from his “prison” via a hole in order to take him to the hospital.
His attacker was obviously arrested.
