Russian police raided several bars and nightclubs in Moscow on Saturday, November 30, “as part of measures aimed at combating LGBT propaganda »reported the official Tass news agency.
Videos shared on social media show individuals sitting on the dance floor of a nightclub, while police shout orders.
The police also arrested the director of the travel agency “Men Travel”, suspected of having “prepared a trip to Egypt for the New Year for supporters of non-traditional sexual values”according to the Tass news agency, citing the police.
The Russian Interior Ministry justified these interventions by the police in Moscow establishments on Friday and Saturday evening by their fight against “LGBT propaganda”. These police raids took place one year to the day after the Russian Supreme Court banned the “international LGBT movement”paving the way for arrests and prosecutions against the LGBT+ community, already repressed in the country.
