Thousands of supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in the capital on Tuesday. They are attempting a revolution to overthrow the army-backed government of Shehbaz Sharif.

A city bunkered by containers to the point of being nicknamed “containeristan”. Riot police trying to repel demonstrators who had reached the edge of Parliament. The army called in to protect the symbols of civil power… On Tuesday, Islamabad was transformed into a battlefield as thousands of supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan descended on the capital. Their objective: to occupy the intersection in front of the seat of legislative power and obtain the release of their leader. Imran Khan has been in jail since last year. He has been prosecuted in around one hundred and fifty cases since he was ousted from power by a motion of censure in 2022 and maintains his innocence.
