A significant quantity of drugs, including more than 7,000 kg of cocaine seized between 2022 and 2023, was incinerated this morning at Sococim in Rufisque. The divisional police commissioner and director of Orctis, Ndiara Sène, shared detailed statistics of these narcotics destroyed.

The countervalue of the total quantity is estimated between 400 and 700 billion FCFA. During the cremation ceremony, the director specified that the operations will continue throughout the day. Concerning Indian hemp, he indicated that “we have 3329.972 kg, for the sus punk, a variety of Indian hemp, the weight is 2.190 kg.”

For cocaine, “we have 7552.326 kg”. Regarding hashish, the weight is 56.105 kg. As for the extradition pills, there are 7,251 of them. Methamphetamine is 900g, crack 391g, and ketamine 4,500 kg. Psychotropic substances, such as Rivotril, diazepam and temesta, total 2640 tablets. In addition, there are 450 kg of chemical precursors, i.e. 250 kg of calcium chloride and 250 kg of sodium hydroxide.

The seizures also include more than 93 canisters of nitrous oxide and 97 cartridges of electronic cannabinoids, often called e-cigarettes containing THC. These substances were confiscated by security forces in the Dakar region.

The ceremony, which was held this morning, was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, who welcomed the efforts made by the State and the police.
