The story of this woman who paid the price last January for a non-compliant pothole on the A15, near Cergy (95), is not isolated. In fact, before renovation work was undertaken last May, this “rut” had embarrassed many vehicles. The newspaper The Parisian indicates in this regard that this faulty pothole required before it was brought up to standard, a dozen interventions per week from a repair company !
A nice scare
In any case, the victim quoted in the Ile-de-France daily indicates that the latter had filed a complaint against the Ile-de-France Roads Department (an entity belonging to the State) after this mishap which had caused a big shock on his vehicle, as well asa great scare for the woman behind the wheel and for her young son seated in the back seats.
Refund versus withdrawal?
After filing his complaint against Dirif for “Endangering the lives of others, risk of death or disability (…)”, the young woman finally received from the Dirif a “withdrawal” email to fill out and sign, a prerequisite to be reimbursed repairs made to his vehicle after his visit to this “ostrich’s nest”. The driver, who signed the document, however assured that she would not withdraw her complaint until she had received reimbursement of the sums incurred…
