TRAFFIC is a leading non-governmental organization working globally on trade in wild animals and plants in the context of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. The TRAFFIC Central Africa office is seeking a Financial Assistant to be based at the TRAFFIC Central Africa office in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

TRAFFIC is looking for a Financial and Administrative Assistant to be based in Yaoundé whose mission will be to support the development of TRAFFIC activities in Yaoundé. The successful candidate will provide support
accounting and financial for the implementation of the Central African program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The financial and administrative assistant will assist in certain financial and administrative aspects necessary for the implementation of the Central Africa Program, including budgetary planning and monitoring; Accounting and cash management; Archiving documents, financial reporting, tracking payments, preparing and following up on audits, among other tasks.

The Account Assistant will perform, among other things, the following tasks:

1.Monitor monthly and quarterly expenses incurred by the Program Office.
2.Regularly update financial planning to ensure proper use of funds in a timely manner.
3.Assist in the preparation of end-of-project audits by ensuring that all supporting documents are available and easily accessible.
4.Develop and track all advance requests, claims and submit them to the TRAFFIC financial manager for processing in SAGE.
5. Attend project events and meetings to provide administrative and logistical support, as needed.
6.Participate in the budget process and ensure that operational plans are consistent with approved budgets.
7.Process payment slips and journal slips in a timely manner and in accordance with the Financial Procedures and Policies Manual.
8.Encode accounting entries in accordance with the accrual accounting action plan.9.Save
all documents sent by the Finance Department to the appropriate general ledger for traceability.
10.Facilitate all payments in the field during various activities (training, workshops, etc.).
11.Analyze and reconcile project expenses to budget accurately and on time.
12. Systematically submit all disbursement supporting documents/supporting documents no later than the following month, with all supporting documents.
13.Prepare and submit donor financial reports on time, in accordance with the donor agreement, in collaboration with project managers and the finance officer.
14.Prepare and submit monthly bank account cash reconciliation;
15.Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
